Standard Shifts
When enabled, this feature allows organizations to distinguish between an employee's standard shifts (aka regularly scheduled) versus additional hours worked (aka extra or casual shifts picked up). The Standard label is applied by default when the shift is created in Schedules. Extra or Casual shifts (naming is customizable) can then be labelled as needed.
Schedulers can also filter to Standard or Casual shifts in Schedules.
If Standard Shifts is set up for an employee’s regular rotation, the system will also be able to identify an employee’s regular day(s) of rest. Pay rules can then be set up in Daily Approval to automatically calculate what kind of payment (Overtime? Double time?) the employee is owed for working on their day off.
The Daily Approval report also includes a column that identifies if the shift is Standard or non-standard for reporting requirements.
