How do I use SharkTalk? (For Employees)
SharkTalk is a free mobile application that can be used to receive ShiftShark notifications and is an alternative to receiving text or voice notifications.
Installing the App
The SharkTalk app can be downloaded from either the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
In your app store, search for SharkTalk and install.
Launch the app and click the Sign In button.
The Inclusion System login screen will appear.
Enter your Inclusion System Username and Password, then click Log In.
Screen Layout
There are 2 tabs available in SharkTalk - Active Chats and History.
Active Chats is the default tab and will show all notifications that can still be responded to.
History tab lists the shift notifications where:
- you have declined
- the response time has expired
- the shift has been assigned to someone else
- the shift date has passed
Reading Messages
On your phone's app screen, a badge will show on the app icon if there are new notifications. The number that appears is a count of the unread notifications.
Note: If you disable notifications for SharkTalk via your phone's Notifications settings, you will not see this badge or other alerts from SharkTalk. Please ensure Notifications are enabled for SharkTalk in your phone settings.
Once you open the app, new notifications, or notifications with unread messages, will be bolded on the Active Chats screen.
Click on the notification to open the chat window. The chat window will show you all the messages and replies in that notification.
Replying to a Message
In the chat window, information on the shift that is available, as well as details on the date and time the message was received, will appear in the chat window.
To respond to the message, click Yes or No at the bottom of the chat window.
If you respond Yes, you will see a confirmation pop-up on the screen.
- Click OK to proceed or Cancel to change your response.
- If you click OK, you will receive a second pop-up message alerting you to wait for shift confirmation.
- If the shift is later assigned to you, you will receive a message saying the shift has been assigned to you. The notification will remain in the Active Chats tab until the shift has passed.
- If the shift is later assigned to someone else, you will receive a message saying the shift has been filled. The notification will automatically move to the History tab.
If you respond No to a message, you will see a confirmation pop up on the screen.
- Click OK to proceed or Cancel to change your response.
- If you click OK, you will receive a second confirmation message noting you declined. This notification will then automatically move to your History tab.
Note: The Yes and No buttons will no longer be available once you have responded, or if the shift is no longer available.
