Where can I find an employee's User ID?
An employee's User ID is created automatically when the employee record is saved.
The User ID is generated using:
- The employee's name
- Your organization's User ID format
The User ID can be viewed from the employee's User profile.
View an Employee's User ID
Navigate to the employee record and select Edit User.
The User ID will be displayed on the Details tab.
When Is the User ID Created?
The User ID is created automatically when a new employee is added to the system.
Creating the User ID does not create a fully active user account.
Before the employee can log in:
- Roles and permissions must be assigned
- The employee must create a password through enrollment, or
- Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO) must be configured
When Does the Employee Get Their User ID?
Employees Using Enrollment Invitations
After an employee completes the password setup process, their User ID is displayed on the enrollment confirmation screen.
Administrators may also provide the User ID to the employee directly if needed.
Employees Using Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO)
Employees using Microsoft SSO do not need to know their User ID to sign in.
They will sign in using their Microsoft account credentials.
Why Does the User ID Look Different Than Expected?
User IDs must be unique.
If the generated User ID already exists, the system will automatically add a number to create a unique User ID.
Example:
If the User ID:
wriker@testorg4
already exists, the next matching employee may receive:
wriker1@testorg4
This ensures each employee has a unique User ID.
